High-Tech ICU Doors Installed in Hospital Expansion

Problem
A large urban hospital was expanding their facility. They had very specific requirements to meet to ensure privacy and sterility when enclosing the rooms in the pre-operation, post-operation, and intensive care unit rooms.
Solution
DH Pace presented a high technology but cost-effective sliding ICU door that would fit the needs of every opening. The doors feature a bolt-free design that allows them to quickly and easily be swung open to a breakout position. This is particularly vital in the event of an emergency where the patient must be rushed to surgery. Traditional ICU doors often have bolts that must be unlocked in order for the door to swing fully open.
The hospital liked the upgraded style of ICU door. In total, DH Pace installed 39 single and telescopic manual ICU doors with smoke-rated packages and 3 telescopic touchless automatic ICU doors with smoke-rated packages across two phases. The automatic ICU doors use wave plate activation to open the door without requiring any contact between the operator and the activation device.
The hospital nearly doubled their patient capacity in this surgery recovery unit while improving the flow in the unit, meeting their budget, and most importantly, maintaining a focus on providing a high level of patient care.
