Traffic Control Problems for Apartment Complex Parking Garage

A large, five-year-old apartment complex in a metro area had problems with a large, high-cycle rolling grille.

PROBLEM

The high-cycle traffic control grille was breaking down due to excessive use and damage from vehicles. Not only was the damage troublesome, but it was also expensive because of the frequency of emergency calls on nights and weekends.

SOLUTION

After a year of piecing the grille back together for the customer, DH Pace recommended a longer-term solution. The team replaced the 26 foot grille with two 12 foot low-maintenance, high-cycle rolling doors. This created less cycle load per door.

CONCLUSION

The turnkey solution incorporated new center column, bollards, lighting and electrical. The new set up allows for two-way vehicle usage, while giving the residents security and the property owners more reliability.
